Studying A Levels As A Mature Student

Did you know that the definition of a Mature Student is anyone over the age of 21? Our students have so many different reasons for studying A-levels and these can lead to a new career or further progression in their chosen careers, whatever that may be. We teach students from a wide range of backgrounds and different stages of their chosen career.  As a mature student, you can start with one, two or three A-Levels, or simply choose one A Level. You can choose from a wide range of over 15 individual subjects and you can also decide whether to study over 12 months, 18 months or up to 2 years.

A-levels open the door to undergraduate university courses and are necessary for progression on to your chosen course in further education or apprenticeships. During your A Level studies, you will discover more professional opportunities and be able to apply for an increasingly diverse range of jobs. Did you know that studying has been proven to stimulate your cognitive functioning and reduces your risk of developing cognitive disorders.

Choosing the subjects to study is a big decision. It’s important to choose subjects that match your interests and your future career plans. Perhaps you want to attend university, so in this case, it is good to research the entry requirements of your ideal course. Attending University Open Days are also an excellent idea as they give you an opportunity to have a tour of the campus and ask current students and tutors questions. Most universities will publish their entry requirements online to help you better understand which A Levels and grades you will need. We have experienced academic staff who can offer tailor-made advice based on the entry requirements for your chosen subject or specialism. As we are a UCAS-registered college, we can also track your applications and keep up to date with any offers you may be considering accepting.
